Members' Dining Room

The Members’ Dining Room is the largest and most prestigious event venue available for hire within the House of Commons. Situated in the heart of the Palace of Westminster, this magnificent space combines historic grandeur with the flexibility to host a wide range of events, including corporate dinners, receptions, conferences, presentations, award ceremonies and licensed wedding ceremonies.

Overlooking the River Thames and rich in parliamentary heritage, the Members’ Dining Room offers guests a truly unique setting that cannot be replicated elsewhere in London. Its impressive proportions, elegant architectural features and adaptable layout make it equally suited to intimate gatherings and large-scale events.

Originally conceived as a conference room and known as the Painted Chamber, the space was transformed into the Members’ Dining Room in 1871 to meet growing demand for dining and hospitality facilities within Parliament. Subsequent enhancements expanded the room while preserving many of its historic features, including intricately carved shields representing the nations of the United Kingdom, decorative period detailing and the Royal Coat of Arms.

Today, the Members’ Dining Room stands as one of London's most distinctive event venues, offering the rare opportunity to entertain guests within the iconic Palace of Westminster while enjoying exceptional hospitality and service.
