Modernisation Committee

Selected letter M

The Modernisation Committee is a cross-party committee of MPs that considers reforms to House of Commons procedures, standards, and working practices.

The Committee was established following the 2024 General Election and is chaired by the Leader of the House of Commons.

There have been Modernisation Committees in previous Parliaments, including after the 1997, 2001 and 2005 General Elections.

As with other Select Committees, the Modernisation Committee can choose the topics of its own inquiries, invite witnesses to give evidence in public and publish reports.

Further information can be found on the Committee’s website.
